Mother’s Day

So, for weeks now I have been working on a gift for my mother for mother’s day. I decided on a centre piece for her living room wall and this is what I came up with…

It is a series of doily chart patterns found on the images section of Google. So a massive shout out to all those talented people that can write patterns and charts for others to use. Thank you! It stands at 39.5″ x 23.5″ in size and it became mixed media when I had to fill spaces (which was before I finished all the doilies hahaha).

There is beading, crochet, paper flowers, gem stones and I was very much tempted to cover the thing in glitter….everyone loves glitter, especially the mess it makes xD…

It’s not the best lighting but I had to take pictures. The colours work with my mums colour scheme, with the wood in her room and the silver/chrome work through the use of the gems. Its a mixture of cotton thread and cur change (very thin) dk and a range of hook sizes…….

….so now this is done and dusted and in time for mother’s day (finishing in the day still counts haha). Onto the next project.

Guardian Angels

This was a Christmas gift I did. Five tiny guardian angels. The pattern is free and is by Av Camilla at Crochetmillan. I used crochet thread and the 2.25mm hook suggested and they turned out a couple of inches each.

I added the loop for hanging at the very beginning using the tail end from the start so having a longer tail then usual and tidying away but not pulling it all the way through, finishing with a tiny knit to keep it secure.

They feel so delicate but I think they are beautiful and so fun to make.
